The Kershaw Kingbolt 1346 is a budget EDC folder from the Starter series, which uses an 8Cr13Mov stainless steel blade, a proven frame-lock lock and a SpeedSafe support mechanism.
Thanks to the combination of modern design, handy size, solid steel and functional construction, the Kershaw Kingbolt 1346 will be perfect as a typical edc knife and an elegant "gentleman's folder".
Stainless steel
Kershaw Kingbolt 1346 was created for everyday use and light work, which is clearly emphasized by its optimal size, solid construction and typically functional style.
The 82 mm long blade is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The 8Cr13MoV steel blade is perfect for everyday use, due to corrosion resistance, good sharpness and easy sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is enough.
Functional style
The slender blade with a usable drop-point profile has an impressive BlackWash finish (black oxidation), which effectively masks any scratches or abrasions of the blade caused during use.
Thanks to the use of a strong point, a concave cut and a cutting edge with a gentle curvature, the knife has good cutting properties and the blade does not get stuck in the material being cut.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Convenient unfolding
The blade can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a milled flipper or with the use of a double-sided pin, thus enabling the selection of a method according to our preferences.
Both solutions are convenient for both right-handed and left-handed users, they also allow for convenient use of the knife with gloves.
A mechanism supporting the unfolding of the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe support mechanism. When you pry the pin or press the pinball fin, the support mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Robust lock
Against accidental folding of the blade, the monolithic frame-lock lock is effectively protected, considered to be one of the most durable locking mechanisms. The lock, like the flipper and the pin, can be operated with one hand.
Carrying clip
Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is possible thanks to the high-mounted clip (not transferable). The handle also has a hole for attaching a decorative paracord braid, which is very popular among the majority of knife owners.
Modern handle
Kershaw Kingbolt 1346 has straight stainless steel cladding, which have a profiled shape and characteristic cutters that increase the grip of the hand. The blackwash finish of the blade and handle gives the knife a futuristic style.
