Kershaw Leek 1660OL is a popular everyday knife with a blade made of Swedish 14C28N steel, a mechanism supporting the unfolding of the blade and anodized aluminum cladding.
Light and handy design
Kershaw Leek was created with everyday use in mind, which is clearly emphasized by its small size, light structure and typically functional style.
The 76 mm long blade is made of Swedish 14C28N stainless steel hardened in the range of 58-60 HRC. Due to the high purity of the alloy, 14C28N steel is distinguished by high hardness, corrosion resistance and, importantly for the user, long-lasting working sharpness.
The slim blade with an aggressive wharncliffe profile has a uniform, matte finish using the stonewashed method (abrasive stone bath). Thanks to the use of a narrow point, a concave cut and an almost straight cutting edge, the knife has excellent cutting properties and the blade does not get stuck in the material.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Comfort of use
The blade can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a milled flipper or with the use of a double-sided pin, thus enabling the selection of a method according to our preferences.
Both solutions are convenient for both right-handed and left-handed users, they also allow for convenient use of the knife with gloves. The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe support mechanism.
When you press the pinball blade, the support mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Two locks
Against accidental folding of the blade, the monolithic frame-lock lock is effectively protected, considered to be one of the most durable locking mechanisms. The main lock is supported by an additional Tip Safety Lock.
A slide lock located in the upper part of the knife prevents accidental opening of the blade in the folded position.
Foldable clip
Discreet carrying of the knife in a pocket is possible thanks to the high-mounted clip that can be mounted on both sides of the handle. Next to the clip, there is a hole for attaching a decorative paracord braid, which is very popular among most knife owners.
Military cladding
The handle of the knife is made of light and durable 6061-T6 aviation aluminum cladding, which are attached to steel liners, which are responsible for the rigidity and strength of the structure. The element that undoubtedly catches the eye of every enthusiast of knives are military olive-colored linings.
The anodized coating is resistant to fading, scratching and abrasion, which guarantees an attractive appearance of the knife for a long time.
