Zero Tolerance ZT 0462 is a designer knife for everyday use, equipped with a CPM-20CV steel blade, titanium and carbon fiber cladding and a ball-bearing KVT power steering.
The design of the ZT 0462 is inspired by the custom Dmitry Sinkevich - Polychotky Jr. knife, which attracted attention with a slender, curved blade and an ergonomic handle with an arched profile.
Premium grade steel
The 83 mm long head is made of CPM-S20V powder steel, hardened to a hardness of 59-61 HRC. CPM-S20V is an American "super steel", the parameters of which correspond to the exclusive Bohler M390 stainless steel.
Due to the high content of chromium and a large amount of vanadium carbides, the steel is characterized by exceptionally good corrosion and wear resistance and a very long sharpness.
When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, because sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and ineffective.
The original blade
The slender trailing point blade has an elegant satin finish. Thanks to the sharp curvature of the blade and the flat cut, the knife has outstanding cutting properties.
The stitches, despite being located above the backline, ensure excellent penetration. The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Comfort of use
The blade is unfolded with one hand using a milled flipper, a convenient solution for both right and left-handed users. KVT ball bearings are installed on the axis of the blade, thanks to which the blade moves smoothly and lightly when unfolding.
Work safety
Against accidental folding of the blade, it is effectively protected by a titanium frame-lock equipped with a hardened steel insert that prevents abrasion of titanium.
Frame-lock is a solid lock considered to be one of the most durable locking mechanisms, characterized by resistance to dirt and very comfortable operation.
Ultralight handle
The knife has ergonomic grips made of brown and black carbon fiber and sandblasted titanium. The curved profile linings (raised upwards), characteristic of this model, are in some way a counter for the blade with a clearly convex belly.
The edges of the titanium claddings have been machine-milled, which improves the grip and gives an elegant look. All edges are perfectly finished, emphasizing the high class of the knife.
The protruding backspacer has transverse ribs to improve the grip and grip of the knife. Discreet carrying of the knife in a pocket is possible thanks to a high-mounted clip (one-sided) secured with a Teflon coating.
